Change4Children

Picture
I NEVER step over a penny without picking it up. I say "Mapalo" while I bend over to get it.  Mapalo was the first child I held when visiting The House of Mosses in Zambia. He was a premature HIV+ child who died a few weeks after we left. I had no idea how my change could help another human. How much would you give to help a child? In Zambia Africa, ACE operates three rescue homes for abandoned infants, orphans and young children in crisis. We provide asistance to extended families, advocate for adoption, provide infant formula to babies at risk of abandonment or starvation, and offer free Christian education to children who cannot attend school due to family poverty. Change 4 Children is an exciting missions program that engages everyone, no matter what their age, in being a part of providing life giving assistance to orphans and abandoned children simply by collecting change.
Adults collect change in beautiful handmade baskets crafted by village women in Zambia and children collect their change in a “katumba,” a small pouch made of African cloth.  A curriculum including crafts, activities, and interactive power point presentations are provided for grades K-8.
Volunteer driven, no budget funds required, this free program blesses not only the children in Zambia, it changes the hearts of our own children at the same time.  This is a program every Children's Director will want to look at. Change 4 Children is interactive, real-time giving and receiving.
Change 4 Children brings unity, joy and a real sense of community to any congregation, group or classroom.

I travel all over the country talking to churches and organizations about Change4Children.  I sing, share my experiences and bring you baskets so that you and others can create a change for these children. Contact me if you would like me to visit and share with you what is so passionate to me.

Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids

Another organization that is dear to me is Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids or BC/EFA.  This organization helps raise money for people who are living with Aids and that are HIV+.
I like to help facilitate the fundraising for our theatre community and other charitable organizations,in order to address and support an urgent crisis or need in the name of the theatre community.
