AHHHHH....Music Man!!!  When I was little I used to just stare at Robert Preston and Shirley Jones on my parents album...which I stole.( Along with My Fair Lady, West Side Story and Man of LaMancha.)  I'd read the album notes and sing a long with every song.  It was magic. I tried to learn every part of the quartette and I wanted SO badly to sing like Shirley Jones.  It's the only soprano role I have every wanted to play. I wanted my voice to sore and be pretty and effortless. Of course I knew I'd only play a Pick a Little or Mrs. Paroo.  And I  was jealous of Buddy Hacket.  This production at The Strand is beautiful. Our Emily (Marian) is so lovely to watch and hear.  I sneak up on stage to listen to her sing those Meredith Wilson songs over and over. Our Harold is my favorite leading man Alan Kilpatrick.  He is musical theatre.  I adore him. My cast is full of kids, dancers, singers, actors and we all love and take care of each other. On and off the stage. The Pick a Little's and others share a 5 person dressing room.  We are smooched up together and thank God we all get along.   We laugh and have "Whats talked about in the dressing room...STAYS in the dressing room" talks.  I wouldn't want it any other way. On stage we are pros except for Caroline who likes to run into people.  We have fun and make magic happen each performance.    I look forward to the next 2 weeks and to our bowling night tomorrow.  Stay Tuned..

Ingrid,

I saw you in Music Man and in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. I thought you were really brilliant, and it was hard to keep my eyes off of your performance.

Your blogs are great, I hope you plan on writing more of them.

I look forward to seeing you in future shows. Congratulations on your Suzi Award!

Your Fan,
Leigh
